Hot Rod Rumble Returns to Albuquerque Dragway October 17

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Get ready for a blast from the past! The Hot Rod Rumble returns to Albuquerque Dragway on Saturday, October 17, 2026, bringing nostalgic drag racing, classic cars, and quarter-mile action together for a day celebrating the good old days of motorsports.

Gates open at 10 a.m., with racing beginning at noon. The event will feature two racing categories: Street Class for vehicles running street tires and Drag Class for vehicles equipped with drag tires.

Adding to the excitement, the AFX Nostalgic Drag Racing Club will bring participants from surrounding states to compete, giving spectators an opportunity to experience nostalgic drag racing firsthand.

In addition to the action on the track, a car show will take place throughout the day, featuring custom cars, trucks, and drag cars. Awards will recognize the Top 10 car show participants, along with Best Nostalgic, Best Rod, and Best in Show. First-place awards for both drag racing categories are scheduled to be presented by 3 p.m.

Racer Requirements

All participating cars and trucks must pass NHRA technical inspection to compete on the quarter-mile dragstrip. Seat belts and helmets are mandatory for all racers.
